Orthoses support the body from the outside in a variety of ways.
Using an orthoses can help improve safety, independence, guide positive growth, efficient movement patterns and/or reduce pain.
Orthotic treatments include: foot orthotics, AFOs (ankle foot orthoses), KAFOs (knee ankle foot orthoses), Knee bracing, spinal bracing (including TLSOs to aid in the treatment of scoliosis) and a range of upper extremity orthoses (bracing).
At Stride we see people of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics and everyone in between. Our clinic offers treatment to help with:
- Movement concerns (atypical walking patterns, limits to motion at any joint)
- Balance and safety in standing and walking
- Musculoskeletal pain
- Preventing progression of skeletal anomalies
- Protecting joint structures from abnormal forces (reducing pain and possible deformity resulting)
Each of our clients meets with our Certified Orthotist, Tara Barreiro and receives a thorough intake and assessment, and are given a recommendation for orthotic treatment with the intention of supporting individual goals. Whenever appropriate, and as requested Stride will connect and collaborate with other members of your care team.
